I returned to the platforms at Witton Lane station in Birmingham this afternoon for one final meeting with West Midlands Trains

I returned to Witton Lane station in Birmingham for the first time since I was there for Aston Villa’s clash with Manchester United at the beginning of last month this afternoon.

The purpose for this visit was to meet with the organisation’s communication’s team ahead of officially promoting the new accessibility signage that was installed at the station on the 31st of January this year.

I hope that Aston Villa’s supporters understand the new changes at the station in terms of the accessibility signage and why it is there ahead of Villa’s clash with Spurs this Sunday that is dedicated to Level Playing Fields Unite for Access campaign.

I would like to reiterate my message to all of the Aston Villa supporters who use the rail network on match-days when travelling to and from the stadium, Please remember that the wheelchair users using the network to get home from matches will require access to the boxes on each of the platforms. They are there to ensure that we can be seen and accessed by the senior conductor once the train has arrived at the station.

I would also urge you as fans of our magnificent club to keep and eye out on social media posts from both West Midlands Trains and Aston Villa Football Club about these new and exciting changes.

As you will be aware by now I have written a significant number of blogs on this issue and they can be found below if you would like to relive my campaign:

I would again like to place on record my thanks to the entire team at West Midlands Trains who have acted quickly to resolve the issues that I brought to there attention during our first meeting at Witton in November last year, your dedication to this project has not gone unnoticed.
